Microphone
macOS asks for microphone access the first time you record. Audio is held in memory while you record and streamed to transcribe.health; it is never written to the disk.
One universal app for Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Native microphone capture, a system-wide dictation shortcut and a menu bar item, signed in with your existing account.
We are finishing the first release. Until it ships, Transcribe Health works in your browser with the same account, and this page will offer the download as soon as it is published.
Open the web appDouble-click the downloaded .dmg file. A window opens with the Transcribe Health icon and an Applications folder.
Drag the Transcribe Health icon onto the Applications folder, then eject the disk image. You can delete the .dmg afterwards.
Open Transcribe Health from Applications or Spotlight. Sign in with the account you use on the web, including Google or your clinic's single sign-on.

Typing a transcript into another program requires the Accessibility permission. macOS asks for it the first time you use the shortcut outside the app, and until it is granted the transcript stays inside the app. Recording inside the app does not need it.
The app connects only to transcribe.health and its subdomains over HTTPS (port 443). It accepts no inbound connections and makes no other outbound requests, so allowing that domain in your firewall or proxy is enough.
The checksum will appear here once a release is published.
The app is signed with our Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so Gatekeeper opens it without a warning.
